When to use a yoni steam
- Before or after your period for general hygiene, clearing and cleansing.
- To relieve menstrual irregularities including cramps, pain, clots, heavy bleeding, long periods, scanty periods.
- After giving a natural birth or c-section. (Avoid on open wounds or stitches until healed).
- Before (peri-menopause) and during menopause and is also beneficial a few times a year after menopause to aid circulation and relieve vaginal dryness.
- Anytime you have an irregular discharge, odor or itchiness.
- During bacterial and yeast infections.
- To prevent and treat uterine irregularities such as fibroids, cysts, tumours, growths, blocked tubes, pcos, cancer and prolapse.
- Infertility

- To relieve stress, trauma and tension in the pelvic region
When to avoid using a yoni steam
- When you are menstruating.
- When you are pregnant or think you could be.
- On open wounds around the vagina or perineum, including sores or blisters. However, yoni steams are excellent for the healing process and scar tissue repair. So try one after the wound is closed.
- If you have a genital piercing, you should remove it before a steam, so it doesn’t burn once the steam is applied.
